“You Give Love a Bad Name”

I woke up this morning singing this Bon Jovi song “Shot through the heart and you’re to blame, you give LOVE a bad name.” When a song pops up in my head out of nowhere I pay close attention because it usually means God’s trying to tell me something.

I even said. Jesus who’s giving you a bad name?

Then, I take my phone and read Doug Addison’s prophetic word and had an “Aha moment”.

Here is an excerpt of Doug’s prophetic Word. You can read the whole post Here.

Ezekiel 34 Mantles

Then on June 9, 2016, I had a radical encounter and was suddenly standing in the Courts of Heaven, a council meeting was taking place—similar to Zechariah 3. God spoke to me with a thundering voice, “Son, prophesy Ezekiel 34!” I knew the meaning of Ezekiel 34 as God had spoken it to me previously with a prophecy I released in February 2013—Super Bowl: Prophetic Sign Seen by the World.
In the encounter, I was shown parts of Ezekiel 34 that are now God’s agenda for those who have been wounded by mean shepherds and fat sheep. These wounded, weak sheep are people who need God’s love—and have been driven away from churches. Ezekiel 34 goes on to say that the mean shepherds and fat sheep, who do not have God’s heart of love, are allowing the enemy to ravish the weaker sheep.
I have been bringing a similar prophetic word for a number of years. One of the next revivals is going to be in the group of spiritual outcasts who have been rejected and considered unclean by many Christians. This may include women stepping up into leadership, political parties not accepted by many Christians, those with tattoos and piercings, the ones who are into zombies and vampires, New Age people, LGBT and minorities—to name a few.
We do not have to agree with the things these people might believe and support, but what God is calling us to is to love them unconditionally. I am not saying they are unclean, but they have been rejected and mistreated terribly by some Christians over the years. Many have been scattered and driven away from the opportunity to worship Jesus. As an evangelist and missionary to the outcasts for years, I have heard literal horror stories of the damage and rejection people have received in the name of Jesus.
Many Christians Have Driven People Away from God
“You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally. So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals.” Ezekiel 34:4–5 NIV
“‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says to them: See, I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep. Because you shove with flank and shoulder, butting all the weak sheep with your horns until you have driven them away, I will save my flock, and they will no longer be plundered. I will judge between one sheep and another.” Ezekiel 34:20–22 NIV
God Is Looking for People to Show Love.
God is the judge of each person’s heart and motives. This is a time to step up and be a light in darkness. We really can love people who have been wounded by religion and by Christians who do not love as Jesus does. This wounding is an injustice in the eyes of God and He is preparing a movement to gather the wounded ones to a safe place.
“I will place over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he will tend them; he will tend them and be their shepherd. I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David will be prince among them. I the LORD have spoken.” Ezekiel 34:23–24 NIV
David is symbolic of someone who loves God and will be a warrior to protect and draw the outcasts to God—David’s mighty men were outcasts (look in 1 Samuel 22:2). This is a time in which we need to have a heart like David for people who have been wounded and driven away from having a relationship with God.

Weak Sheep Defender Mantles

While I was in the Courts of Heaven prophesying this, I felt a mantle come on me and the heat of it has not lifted since. I heard the Lord say to deputize weak sheep defenders.
God’s heart and agenda right now is to raise up people who are willing to go after those driven away, and to be defenders of the weak and menders of those who have been wounded. A strong ministry of reconciliation is coming on those who are willing to step up and receive it.

Then, to make confirmation way more evident. The dictionary word of the day pops up on my phone right at the moment I’m reading.

 1. to overcome the distrust or hostility of; placate; win over: to conciliate an angry competitor.

 2. to win or gain (goodwill, regard, or favor).

 3. to make compatible; reconcile.

 4. to become agreeable or reconciled: Efforts to conciliate in the dispute proved fruitless.

I believe the Lord is pretty serious with this matter.
He will bring His scattered sheeps to Him and will use those that are willing to lay down their agendas and prejudice to Love them the way Jesus does. The former ways are going to be no more. God’s new ways are coming swiftly. Get ready.

  1. I think I was a spiritual outcast in the flock for years and now I have been shepherded into the inner part of the flock. I love loving on the “outcasts.” When I led a college Bible study group, I asked God to bring then cast out ones in the body of Christ to our group. And he did! We had a homeless guy and 3 developmentally disabled people, and a guy who was older and lived lived lonely life. Plus we had 4 different nationalities too, it was super cool!!! 🙂

Hey Jireh, on a different topic, I wanted to talk with you about something. I’m struggling with not hearing God’s voice and being able to discern him from my own voice. I had a tough day searching for a new job, I feel like I’m in the middle of of a big battle and I’m struggling. I trust Jesus, I truly do, I just don’t feel him right now too closely. And with all the emotions of losing my job, it would feel great to get to feel his embrace close to me. I think he teaching me patience, it’s just hard sister.

    1. Let me tell you I also had a small group here at home of very different people. The Lord told me He was going to teach me to work with all kinds of people. It truly was a learning experience and a beautiful one.
Brother, I know that right now you might be feeling as if you’re all alone but believe me this is a time in your life where heaven is very active around you. You might not be feeling His presence because it is part of the process. He might not speak to you the way you are used to here Him, maybe He is using another way that you yet don’t realize. Trials are great to develop new and fresh ways to hear Him because we PRESS HARDER.
Dreams is one of the most common ways the Lord speaks to me, though, sometimes I have had periods with not one dream. Since I’m so used to them I used to get sad and annoyed. Now I understand that when He’s not speaking like that I need to focus on the other ways.
Also, the Lord has been purifying everyone that has said Yes to Him. Which means getting into uncomfortable situations to learn Jesus’ character and be more like Him. The pain, the struggles and trials are the only path to get closer to a Holy God.
For instance, my husband is a college football strength coach, we have been praying hard for another job since Last year. The Lord showed me that we were heading out. I thought that would come to pass real quick, but I was wrong. We’ve been praying and pressing for the Lord to give us an exit. Hubby is in a high level of stress because of things going on at this place plus the hours are insane. I’m talking about 12 to 15 hours a days. Many weekends too. It is a very uncomfortable situation.
But you know what, before we got married the Lord was clear that He was gonna do a job in our hearts before giving us something better.
We don’t have a job yet. And all the doors has been closing in our faces. But my faith is not in the circumstances. I don’t care what I see brother, I care about what God said. I’ve seen God in action in the past and He will do it yet again.

Sometimes we don’t hear a clear direction. Then we go to the Word and find verses like “I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU OR FORSAKE YOU” or GOD IS OUR PROVIDER. I take those verses and I start praying them until I see breakthrough. You must determine yourself to not giving up, to not fall into the temptation of getting depressed. While you look for a job, learn every lesson from this phase you’re going through. Don’t let this precious painful time pass you by in vane.
We moved from NY to AZ two years ago. And let me tell you this has been two years of many trials of all kinds, preparing us for greater things. I have a better understanding of these things than hubby, therefore my job has been to keep peace and focus on the right perspective.
Joel, God is doing something greater and believe me, He is counting on you to go along and learn whatever He’s teaching you in the process.
One more thing. Sometimes we ask for things and in order to get them we need to go through difficult times. I used to be afraid of asking for deep things because of the process. Now I don’t care what I have to go through. Of course, I don’t ask for trials, I don’t like them. Though, I ask for a deeper relationship, for deeper encounters. For the Spirit of wisdom and revelation to get to know Him better. All these things require purification and process. The difference is that I want it bad and I don’t care for the pain. It’s a choice I made.
Many people have great callings upon their lives and they give up because of the fire and the trials. Until we don’t understand that what’s under the sun is not more important than what’s in the Kingdom of God. Until we don’t understand that the greater things are on the other side, that we were created for God and that we belong there and not here. Then, we will not have the guts to let go completely.
The process is refining us until everything under the sun looses its value in comparison to having Jesus, to knowing Him more and experience His riches in glory.
      Man this is long! hahahaah

Ok ok this is the last thing. Bare with me😂
I used to throw in tantrums because I couldn’t hear God the way I wanted to. It was so frustrating to see friends having all kinds of experiences and not me, until God made me understand that He wanted me to fall in love over hills for Him. To love Him for who He is first before all the power and the might. He want to creat in me a pure heart that is not moved because of power but because of love. My process has been really slow and has taken me years to develop. Now I have peace. Of course, I always cry out for what I want, the difference is that now I know I’ll get there, in the meantime I praise and honor Him by obeying and pleasing Him.
I am still praying for your new job. I’m praying for the Lord to surprise you with something greater. But please, this time you’re in will catapult you to a higher level of intimacy. I suppose that’s what you wanted. Then, don’t let it pass in vane.

      1. You have some really good insight Jireh. Those last three sentences you wrote summed up what I think I already knew in my heart but didn’t want to bring out to the open. ‘This time you’re in will catapult you to a higher level of intimacy. I suppose that’s what you wanted. Then, don’t let it pass in vane.’ That’s right. That’s exactly right. (Also you can’t write as much as you want!! I needed to hear this!)

The focus you had on the process is true too. I think he’s been saying that to me, but I wanted someone to confirm it. I wanted this, I did, because I wanted what was on the other side more. You said it perfectly 🙂

Thank you, you have taken so much time to pray for me, talk to me about this, process this…I can’t put to words what that means to me.

And I’m praying for your husbands job situation too. That’s brutal! Jesus, I just pray you will bring Jireh’s husband to a new job, out of his current situation and bring him to a place of work that is refreshing and enjoyable. In your name I pray, amen.

      2. It is my pleasure, always. Thank you so much for praying for us also. We need God to give us an answer soon.
Keep me on the loop on how God is moving through your situation. Also when you get a new job, to rejoice and celebrate with you🙌🏽
We will see God yet again and we will reach the other side more mature in the inside. That for me is priceless.
God bless you Joel, you’re awesome!
