The levels of anxiety on people’s lives right now are off the charts. If we’d only had the chance to listen to their thoughts we’d go crazy. It’s pretty easy to walk through life and  only focus in doom and gloom when we see all this negativity happening all around.

Don’t lose your PEACE!

“Cast all anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 NIV

You might be thinking, “That’s not as simple as it looks; we are being bombarded from every angle. Seems like this overwhelming dark cloud gets heavier and heavier by the minute.”  Honestly, yes that’s the truth. However, I’m not saying live in denial and be unsympathetic to what’s happening around the world; but we must learn to see life occurrences through Kingdom lenses, because Light always defeats darkness if only you welcome that Light into your life.  It’s imperative to learn to rest and trust the Lord in this season.

Whatever you’re focusing on is going to be the very thing controlling your emotions. This is a time to have our eyes completely fixed on Jesus, His promises and goodness.

“‘Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: REJOICE! Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by PRAYER AND PETITION, with THANKSGIVING, present your request to God. And the PEACE of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your mind in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable -if anything is excellent or praiseworthy- think about such things.” Philippians 4:4,6-8

It’s not a secret that people tend to become what they think. So why not focus on the good instead of the bad? Trying to have a better outlook in life will make you happier regardless of the circumstances.

The sooner we understand in our inner most being that the Lord already overcame, we will know how to tackle ‘trying times’ from the perspective of an overcomer. The Lord makes it really clear as of what to do and how to confront life challenges.

 I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NIV

The Lord woke me up with a word that I shared on my Facebook Page last week:


That’s His promise to you, if you would only say Yes to His invitation of Peace and Rest.

“You, Lord, give perfect peace to those who keep their purpose firm and put their trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3 GNBDK

I would like to leave you with this next verse. I pray it over you today.

“May the Lord himself, who is our source of peace, give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with you all.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16 GNBDK

      1. Jireh, I must apologize to you. I accidentally hit the “reblog” button and your post was put on my FB page and on my own blog, Though I LOVED what you said, there are reasons that I will have to remove your post from my sites. I have a daughter who is going through a serious mental and spiritual battle right now. She is Very depressed about the things going on on the world and it has made her suicidal. Sad to say, she seems to be rejecting and blamng God right now. And when God is mentioned to her, especially in reference to the things happening (the terror attacks, etc) she turns to alcohol for relief. Her husband has asked us to NOT post things that might set her off, especially spiritual things. We have agreed, sadly, at least for the present time. Because my own blogsite IS a personal journal of the goodness of God in my life, he (Monty) checks it out before she reads it to be sure it won’t set her off. This situation, as you can imagine, breaks my heart!!! Please pray for her (Rebecca). Btw, when I hit the reblog button, I was just looking for a way to “follow” your blog!! there didn’t seem to be a button for that. God bless you, dear Jireh. I pray that your blog reaches ears that need your message!! But for now I can not pass it on through my FB site or my blogsite, in deference to my son-in-law’s request.

      2. Oh sister it is totally fine. It saddens me what your daughter is going through. I will be praying for Rebecca and for the Lord to enlighten her heart with truth and restoration. Have a beautiful weekend Elizabeth. Do what you need to do. That’s being wise. ❤️

  1. Amen, we literally have everything promised to us. We are heirs of God and coheirs with Christ; we have it made. We have everything our heart’s have ever desired. Plus our God conquered death. We truly have nothing to fear and have no reason to be anxious about the world. The deception is strong though and we are still fallen in part, redeemed daily. But in reality, even when we can’t see it, we have no reason to ever fear, and every reason to rejoice always and always do his work!
